Sites & Books on Bird Watching in Andalucia

- 'Birding the Costa' is a blog spot for English speaking birders anywhere in Andalucía whose Spanish is not up to scratch.
- 'Bird Guide', the life & times of an olde bird guide living in Spain.
- 'Birdwatching in Andalucía (Southern Spain)', diary of excursions.
- 'The Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society', reports from the Strait of Gibraltar bird observatory.

Listed are a few books which will help you to get more enjoyment out of your bird watching in Andalucia holiday.
- "Bird Watching on Spain's Southern Coast" by John R. Butler. One of my favourites, this is a very comprehensive guide to the birds of the southern coast of Spain, it includes many varied sites and maps of how to get there.
- "Where to Watch Birds in Southern and Western Spain" by Ernest Garcia and Andrew Patterson. The definitive guide to finding birds in Andalucia, Extremadura and Gibraltar.
- "The Spanish Imperial Eagle" by Miguel Ferrer. An excellent book devoted to this magnificent bird.
- "Collins Guide to Birds of Britain and Europe" By Lars Svensson et al. A great addition to any twitcher's book shelf.
